Film-Inspired, authentic storytelling for real people.
Most couples only get professional photos on their wedding day. Which means most of the relationship — the apartment you shared before the house, the trip that changed everything, the ordinary Tuesday that was somehow perfect — goes completely undocumented. That’s what I’m here for.I photograph couples at every stage. Some of my clients are engaged and want something before the wedding. Some just got back from a trip and want to remember what this year felt like. Some have been together for a decade and realized they have almost no photos of themselves that weren’t taken at arm’s length.Whatever brought you here — you’re right. This is worth doing.
Couples & Engagement Sessions
This is the one you don’t need a reason for. You just need to want it. I’ll take you somewhere that means something — and I’ll spend an hour or two just documenting you two together, the way you actually are.
Engagement sessions work the same way. A lot of couples use them to get comfortable in front of the camera before their wedding day, which I think is genuinely smart. But you don’t need a ring to book one.

Micro Weddings
Small guest list, full ceremony, real celebration. If you want to get married surrounded by the people who actually matter — a micro wedding is the version of this that most couples wish they’d chosen. I cover the whole day without making the whole day about posing and smiling.
Documenting life as it happens.
I’m Max, a Vancouver-based photographer with a documentary approach. I don’t manufacture moments. I don’t have a shot list I’m working through or a pose I’ve been waiting to set up. My job is to stay close enough to catch what’s real, and far enough away that you forget I’m there.
The style is documentary — honest, warm, influenced by the look of film photography without the unpredictability of actually shooting on film. You get images that feel like they happened rather than images that look like they were produced.
I’m based in Vancouver and shoot across BC and Canada. For the right elopement, I’ll go further.

What is your photography style?
I specialize in documentary-style photography with a film-inspired aesthetic. This means I focus on candid moments, natural light, and authentic atmosphere rather than heavy posing. You get the warmth and timeless look of classic film, but with the technical reliability and high resolution of modern digital cameras.
Do we need a reason to book a couples session?
No. Genuinely. The most common thing I hear from couples after their session is that they wish they’d done it sooner. You don’t need an engagement, an anniversary, or any occasion at all. Wanting photos of your relationship right now is reason enough.
What actually happens during a session?
We meet somewhere — either a spot you suggest or one I recommend based on what you’re after — and we spend one to two hours together. I’ll give you some direction if you’re not sure what to do with your hands, but mostly I’m just photographing the two of you as you exist. It’s a lot more relaxed than people expect.
What is your turnaround time for final images?
I prioritize a fast and professional workflow. For standard sessions, you can expect your final edited gallery within seven business days. For weddings and elopements, a preview is delivered within 96 hours, with the full documentary gallery following shortly after.
Are you available for travel?
Yes. While I am based in Vancouver, British Columbia, I am available for wedding, lifestyle, and hospitality projects worldwide. Whether it’s a local bistro or a destination wedding, I am comfortable working in spaces of any size.
Your relationship right now is worth remembering.
Ten years from now you’ll be glad you have these photos. Send me a message and tell me about you two — where you are, what you’re thinking, whether you have a date in mind or just a feeling that this is the right time. I’ll get back to you within a few hours.

Working with Max was such an amazing experience. From the moment we met, he made everything feel comfortable and effortless. He’s genuinely kind, easygoing, and such an interesting person with a really cool life story. It honestly felt like I was spending time with someone I could easily become friends with. His energy made the whole experience feel relaxed, natural, and genuinely enjoyable.
We were able to capture some really beautiful pre-wedding photos together, and I was honestly so impressed with how they turned out. I’ve never considered myself very photogenic (and even my friends and fiance would agree!), but Max somehow managed to capture photos where I felt happy, confident, and like myself. I was surprised by how many shots I genuinely loved!! This is no easy feat.
Not only is Max incredibly talented, but he brings such a positive energy to the entire experience. He made the whole process fun and comfortable, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with him. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer, and I would absolutely work with him again in the future!

We had the pleasure to do a couple's photoshoot session with Max and we really enjoyed it! He was very friendly and easy-going yet professional, so we did not feel nervous at all. We also really liked how he captured our poses and the story the photos bring. Additionally, the session itself was very fun! Time flew because the prompts and directions Max instructed us to do for each pose were enjoyable.

Max is a wonderful photographer who is both professional and personable. It was our first photoshoot together for my partner and I, and Max made sure we felt comfortable right from the start to finish. What makes Max truly stand out to me is his positive energy and ability to create a safe and welcoming space where my partner and I did not feel forced or awkward. His encouragements and prompts enabled us to talk, laugh, and interact naturally, which made every shot feel genuine and authentic. Max also went above and beyond to provide us a whole gallery of photos capturing all the moments of us laughing and being together! We loved every picture and were very impressed with Max's attention to detail and expertise to capture genuine moments.
Max is talented and easygoing and will be the right fit for any couples who not only want their photos taken, but also want an experience where they can truly feel comfortable being themselves. Time flew by super fast as we had a lot of fun. Thank you Max for making it the best experience ever!
