I’m Max Fomin — a Vancouver-based photographer focusing on intimate celebrations and the stories that happen in between.
My background is rooted in documenting the soul of spaces — hotels, boutique stays, and architectural interiors. That experience taught me how to find beauty in the quiet corners: the way natural light hits a room, the atmosphere of a gathering, and the small details that make a place feel intentional.
Eventually, I realized that the same documentary eye I used for architecture was exactly what people wanted for their most important life milestones. I found that I work best in smaller, intimate settings where I can truly document the energy of the day.
Today, my top specialty is micro weddings and elopements. I prefer these celebrations because they allow for a focus on genuine presence over production.

I don’t believe in over-staged poses or forced artsy narratives. Whether I’m shooting a wedding in the city or a boutique hotel on the coast, my approach is the same: stay unobtrusive, stay observant, and stay professional.
I’m drawn to the warm, nostalgic aesthetic of film, but I back it up with the total reliability of a modern digital workflow. This means you get images that feel like timeless memories, delivered with the speed and security that a professional service requires.
Most importantly, I believe that great storytelling has no barriers. My lens is open and welcoming to clients of all ages, genders, sexualities, ethnicities, and lived experiences. I want to document the world as it is — diverse, authentic, and beautiful — and I am committed to creating a comfortable, inclusive environment for every single person I work with.
